It is a bridge. Cool place to take pics. Trails available to walk the gorge as well.
Gorgeous views. Nice trail. Little shops. Also there is a very adventurous walk along the gorge. Best time to visit Autumn. Plenty of parking. Fun for kids. Great place to photograph. Restrooms available. Located directly off main road. Small museum. Also a snack bar and restaurant in this location of the Gorge
Called the Grand Canyon of Vermont: breathtaking view of a drop-off of 165 feet straight down from the high bridge, where the river has carved out the mountains. If nearby, don't miss it. Also, at the side of the bridge is a great small Seafood Restaurant, just a small dairy looking counter, but they actually have a great variety of good seafood at good prices and big proportions. The lightly fried Scallops were great, and they are known for a regional specialty of Lobster Rolls. I really enjoyed myself that day for the view followed by a nice dinner. Nice people all around!
Take a picture from the bridge, It's cool when the trucks go by. Make sure your phone does not FALL out of your hands.
The bridge itself isn't anything super special to look at. From the top, it looks like a regular bridge on a highway for traffic. BUT the view from the bridge (both sides) was spectacular! I wish they had a signal at the crosswalk, but Vermonters are great about stopping for pedestrians.
